Metal Banner Project

Metal Banners

The Metal Banner Project is now installed on Sussex Street.  This project was made possible by a grant from ArtsWA- Washington State Arts Commission and the City of Tenino.

The Tenino ARCH Commission led a banner contest in 2023, calling on area artists to submit their conceptual designs.  ARCH received over 60 submissions that were handed over to a panel of judges.  Nineteen designs were selected to become banners.

Yet, there were still four subjects that were not covered by the contest submissions that ARCH and the judges felt were quintessential Tenino.  Those were:  Tenino Wooden Money, Museum and Caboose, Bucky the Beaver, and something to represent Tribal History.  Those designs came out of the ARCH Commission.

All concept art was rendered into metal by Creative Ironworks

Now that we are a Certified Creative District, the City of Tenino hopes that this is the first of many projects of this nature.
