Offut Lake Resort & Lady of the Lake is a small family-owned campground and restaurant near Tenino, WA, 15 minutes south of Olympia. They host cabins, RV sites, a restaurant and bar, dock fishing and boat rentals. The General Store offers tackle, snacks and gifts. The resort lends itself to the tranquility of the lake by allowing electric motorboats only. The lake is open for fishing all year. The resort is open all 4 seasons. Monarch Sculpture Park is a nonprofit 5-acre contemporary sculpture park and a center for the arts. Located in South Thurston County, Monarch Sculpture Park is walk in and bike in, with no vehicular access to the public on park grounds. There are several locations close by to park on the Chehalis Western Trail and walk the short distance to the park via the trail.
Sandstone Walking Tour
Welcome to Tenino and its sandstone legacy of quarries and buildings. In 1888, a large deposit of sandstone was found near Tenino. By the 1910's, quarries were operated by the Tenino Stone Company and the Hercules Sandstone Company. These companies supplied Tenino sandstone for buildings throughout the west from San Francisco, California to Vancouver, B.C., and from Aberdeen, Washington to Missoula, Montana. Like so many cities in the west, Tenino's commercial district was destroyed by fires. The 1905 fire destroyed a block on the south side of Sussex Avenue, and the 1917 fire the other side of the street. In rebuilding and using Tenino's own sandstone, the town was left with a unique legacy of its sandstone quarries.
Scatter Creek Wildlife Area
Lying in the lowlands of the Puget Sound Trough and surrounded by the Cascade Mountain Range to the east, the Willapa Hills to the southwest, and the Black Hills to the northwest, these 926 beautiful acres of land will astound you. Experience the wildlife as you enjoy fishing, hunting, and sightseeing.
Skookumchuck Wildlife Area
Skookumchuck is a wildlife habitat for a wide variety of species of animals, especially birds, fish, and amphibians as well as forage and cover for deer and elk. Located 11 miles northeast of Centralia and downstream from the Skookumchuck Dam in Thurston County, the 960-acre property not only contains forest habitats but also grassland, wetland, farmland, meadow, and orchard habitats.

Tenino Depot Museum houses many local artifacts, including the original press used to make Depression Era "wood money". Features exhibits on Quarrying, Forestry, Farming, Native American History, Railroads, 1920's Dr's Office, Boomtown Tenino and surrounding communities. Come see the 1930's one-room Ticknor Schoolhouse and the 1923 Great Northern Caboose.
